Have you ever heard that to get ahead, you should work on yourself more than what you do?  What does that mean and HOW do you execute that?

So, what are you doing to increase your capacity, to stretch yourself, to grow in that direction?  Are you reading books, going to seminars, taking courses?  Is it working or do you feel like you are squeezing more and more of your life out of the way in the quest to get ahead?

Even if you're on a track, there are a million and one possibilities because a journey in any direction leads to the same horizon.  So how do you know which path to take in growing your capacity in the direction that is right for you?  

That is a question that holds most people back because the direction you move  is driven by what gives you purpose and your purpose is defined by the vision you have for the outcomes you desire.  Most people really don't know how to articulate what they want beyond health, wealth, & happiness.  These terms are too vague and broad to have any tangible meaning that propels one toward a result.  So most people remain predominantly where they are, drifting and wandering in vague generalities when it comes to making any meaningful progress.  

This is the most common cause of wandering aimlessly in life or floundering in business is lack of a clear vision about the path of progress.  The direction and way to proceed are uncertain and unclear...the result is a predictable pattern of perpetual stagnation.  People end up bouncing from distraction to distraction on what seems like the next best thing to pursue; either that or people settle for what they have in quiet desperation that it will never get better, no matter what they do...so they quit struggling.    

With a clear vision, you can travel with a deliberate intent on an intentional, determined path...you have a sense of direction and purpose fueled with a certainty that you are making progress in the right direction with hope and confidence that you can overcome any obstacle or circumstance you may face.  

This clear vision fosters an absolute belief that manifests in resourcefulness, resiliency, resolve to overcome any adversity with the fortitude to overcome ANY adversity using all the resources you have available with imagination and creativity to create a solution if one doesn't show up.  

It becomes an upward spiral where your desire for the result is so strong...it is strong enough that you see the outcome as REALLY possible even though it once seemed unachievable or even impossible.  You begin to BELIEVE it will happen and that belief grows until you have the impulses to take the first step in the direction of your aspiration and that step is, quite simply, the best step you can take from where you currently stand.  It is not a step that will achieve the outcome, just one that is toward the outcome.  

That simple step begins the Journey of a thousand others you cannot anticipate...yet this step creates more belief and, in turn, leads to more steps.  Each successive series of steps lead to others and reveal an unfolding path of options and obstacles to navigate through on this journey that is always beginning and never ends.     

The Journey never ends despite your clarity of purpose and the deliberate actions you take in the direction that seems best, the horizon of your current capacity is always waiting for you in the distance each time you resume the trek.
